Brrr Winter: January Sketch Challenge

Every time I use a sketch, I think: why aren't I using more sketches?  It's really wonderful to have a jumping off point for my design, even if the sketch is more of an inspiration than a direct map for my layout. 

 I used the January sketch from My Creative Sketches for this winter page:

I love Winterings, this pretty, new line from Little Yellow Bicycle. It has such a soft color palette that's easy to use. It was perfect for my photo. 

 This snowman cluster at the bottom was fun to make.  I pop-dotted the snowman sticker and added a twine scarf around his neck. 

Here's a closeup of the title area. 

This is the new sketch by My Creative Sketches. You can see the influence of the original sketch on my layout, but I did take a few artistic liberties.

    This is such a pretty winter page, Izzy. I just love the little scene you created on the doily. The title work is great too with the mix of stickers and Clear Cuts. :)

    They really do make a page come together kind of quickly sometimes.

    Awesome page. Love the cute snowman. I am a total sketch fan though oftentimes my layout looks completely different from the sketch.

    I might be tired of winter....but I"ll never tire of your wonderful designs, Izzy. Love the patchwork scene you created based on that sketch. You know where to go if you REALLLY want the "snow and cold" experience....I'll be waiting for you :)

    Congrats on the LYB win and I must be crazy cause I thought I had Always been a follower of your blog!! LOVE this layout cause its crisp and clean and I am a HUGE lover of snowmen!! Cute addtn of the twine for his scarf!
